Vietnam Increases Minimum Wages
The Vietnamese government signed Decree No. 38/2022/ND-CP on 12 June 2022, announcing that the minimum wages will be increased by an average of 6% from 1 July 2022.
The monthly minimum wages are adjusted as follows as per the new Decree:

Region I: increased from VND4.42 million (around USD190) to VND4.68 (around USD202)

Region II: increased from VND3.92 million (around USD169) to VND4.16 (around USD179)

Region III: increased from VND3.43 million (around USD148) to VND3.64 (around USD157)

Region IV: increased from VND3.07 million (around USD132) to VND3.25 (around USD140)
The hourly minimum wages are adjusted as follows as per the new Decree:

Region I: increased to VND 22,500 (around USD0.97)

Region II: increased to VND 20,000 (around USD0.86)

Region III: increased to VND 17,500 (around USD0.75)

Region IV: increased to VND 15,600 (around USD0.67)
Note:

Region I covers urban Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City;

Region II covers rural Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City along with Da Nang;

Region III covers provincial cities and districts of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Phu To, Binh Phuc and other provinces not listed in Region I and Region II;

Region IV covers remaining localities.
