Military Service for Residents from Hong Kona and Macau
The recent popular topic about immigration to Taiwan among residents from Hong Kong. The Taiwanese males have to fulfill the military service at the age of 19s, so is it also required for that residents from Hong Kong and Macau who immigrate to Taiwan have to fulfill the military service as well? What is the military service?
Males with the household registration in Taiwan reaches the age of 19 on January 1st to 36 on December 31st is compulsory to accept the recruitment of army, which called as “service-aged men”. For example, the males born from 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2020 have to full fill the military service.

Notices
Currently, the males born from the year of 1994 are affiliated as standing ranking officers. The prescribed period of training is changed into 4 months and the contents of training are enlisted training and skill training.
For males born by the year of 1993, such males shall be assigned to each government entity for service for one year.
