In the past two years, the number of Hong Kong and Macao residents registered household in Taiwan has been increasing year by year. The administrative districts with the largest number of registered households are New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taichung City, and Taoyuan City. Even though Hong Kong people are more familiar with Taipei City, purchase of houses in Taipei City is relatively low. On the contrary, houses in surrounding area are more preferable. Here we introduce some popular areas outside Taipei City.

1. Linkou
   
   With the opening of the airport MRT line and large-scale outlets, Linkou obtained good amenities and became more convenient. The airport MRT is connected to the Taipei Main Station, and it takes only 15 minutes to reach the Taoyuan International Airport. Daily commute to Taipei City may require driving. The area is very suitable for new immigrants who require frequent travel between Taiwan and Hong Kong.
   
   
2. Qingpu High Speed Rail Special Region
   
   Taoyuan Qingpu Special Region is a re-developed area next to Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station. There are airport MRT station A17, A18, A19 nearby, which can be easily accessed by public transport. It takes 12 minutes the fastest to reach Taoyuan Airport and there are large shopping centres in the area. Residents can take high speed rail to Taipei City for daily commute. The area is high accessible, and the house price is much cheaper than Taipei City.
   
   
3. Taichung City
   
   Taichung City has its own airport, and with more new houses and re-developed area. The weather is nice around the year and house price is considerably lower than northern Taiwan. Therefore, it is also a hot spot for Hong Kong immigrants to purchase a house. Many Hong Kong people planned their retirement life in the city.
   
   
4. Tucheng Re-Developed Area
   
   Tucheng is located in New Taipei City, at the end of the MRT Blue Line. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes to take the MRT from Tucheng to Taipei City. It is very convenient in terms of transportation, and the housing price is much cheaper than Taipei City. The area is with good amenities, and there are plenty of choices for new houses.
   
   
5. Xinzhuang Re-Developed Area
   
   Xinzhuang is located in New Taipei City, next to the old urban area. It benefits from the good amenities around the old urban area, also with the airport MRT passing through. Residents can quickly reach Taoyuan Airport and Taipei City. It is also a place where many Hong Kong people considering buying a house.
