As an employer, you can apply for a TWP for:
1.

Semi-skilled or unskilled employees from related overseas companies to undergo training in Singapore;

2.

Foreign students studying in educational institutions in Singapore. The training must be part of their course requirements.

Does the employer subject to quota and levy when hiring TWP holder?

Yes. Employers are limited by a quota for their industry and have to pay a monthly levy for each TWP holder.

Does the employer need to get security bond and medical insurance for their TWP holder?

Yes. Employers are required to get security bond for each non-Malaysian TWP holder and provide medical insurance for each TWP holder.

How long does it take to process the TWP application?

The application takes up three (3) weeks to be processed for most cases after Ministry of Manpower (“MOM”) receive complete set of documents. It may take longer when additional documents are required by the MOM.

How long is the duration of TWP and is it renewable?

The duration of TWP is up to 6 months. The Work Permit is not renewable. Foreign employees from related overseas companies cannot get another TWP until 6 months after the last one expires or gets cancelled. Foreign students can only be granted a TWP once.
