Can I apply for extension after the original work permit expires?
A:
According to the regulations, the applicant shall apply for extension within 90 days to 30 days before the expiration of the validity period of the Foreigner Work Permit. The expired Foreigner Work Permit will be automatically deregistered and can only be re-applied.

Q:
What is the difference between re-application after the original work permit has expired and first-time application?
A:
Applicants who have obtained a Foreigner Work Permit may be exempted from submitting some application documents if they meet the corresponding conditions when re-applying.

Q:
Is it necessary to apply for change of work permit for nationality change?
A:
The applicant shall re-apply for foreigner work permit in China when applicant changed nationality.

Q:
How do representatives of representative offices (RO) in China apply for work permits?
A: Representatives of RO in China can apply for work permits in the following two methods:
  1. After obtaining the Notice of Foreigner Work Permit, apply for a Z visa to the local embassy of China in the country to which applicant belong, and entry with a Z visa to apply for a Foreigner Work Permit.
  2. After obtaining the Z visa by applicant himself, applicant can entry with a Z visa to apply for a Foreigner Work Permit directly.

Q:
What are the differences between the above two application methods?
A: The main difference lies in whether the Embassy of China in the country to which the applicant belongs requires the Notice of Work Permit for Foreigners to issue Z visa. The second application method can save the approval time for applying for the Notice of Work Permit for Foreigners and obtain the Foreigner Work Permit more quickly.
