Question

National Pension Insurance Premium Refund

Answer
Q: I am currently employed and enrolled in labor insurance. Why did I still receive a national pension insurance premium payment slip?
A: The payment slip is issued at the end of every odd-numbered month and covers the premiums from two months prior. Therefore, the payment slip you receive now should be the premium collected before you join the labor insurance.

Q: I overpaid my insurance premium. What should I do?
A: If you are still enrolled in the national pension insurance, the overpaid amount will generally be applied as a credit toward your future premium payments.

Q: I plan to enroll in labor insurance soon. If there is a remaining credit from my national pension insurance premiums, will the Bureau of Labor Insurance issue a refund automatically?
A: Yes. The Bureau of Labor Insurance will periodically review records. If you have enrolled in other social insurance programs, your subsidy status changes to full subsidy, you reach the age of 65, or in the event of death, and it is confirmed that you have overpaid premiums without any outstanding dues, the refund will be processed automatically.

Q: I am ungently needing money. Can I apply for a refund of the national pension insurance premiums I have already paid?
A: It is not possible.

Q: How can I pay overdue insurance premiums? Will there be a late fee or interest?
A: Overdue insurance premiums can still be paid within the designated period using the payment slip. There will be no late fee, but interest will be charged.
