A: No, foreign companies must be registered as for-profit enterprises to establish branches or representative offices in Taiwan with approval from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).

Q: What types of entities can foreign non- profit organizations establish in Taiwan?
A: Foreign non-profit organizations may establish representative offices, foundations, or associations in Taiwan with approval from the Ministry of the Interior.

Q: Can foreign non-profit organizations collect donations in Taiwan?
A: Foundations or associations may collect donations, but representative offices are not permitted to do so.

Q: Can fundraising activities commence immediately after registering as a social group entity?
A: No, fundraising can only begin after the entity has been fully established, and registration with the court has been applied for and completed.

Q: Is there a minimum shareholder requirement for associations or foundations?
A: Since associations and foundations are non-profit entities, the concept of shareholders does not apply. However, at least 30 Taiwanese nationals or foreign nationals holding Taiwan residency permits are required as founders.
