Vietnam Extends Tax Deadlines for Certain Taxes Again

According to Decree 12/2023/ND-CP, Vietnam has extended the tax deadlines for value added tax, corporate income tax, personal income tax and land rental fees again to tackle the problem of liquidity for business households, individuals and enterprises, which aims to accelerate the economic growth. The new arrangements are as follows:

For monthly value added tax declarations:
(1) The deadline is extended by six months for March to May of 2023
(2) The deadline is extended by five months for June of 2023; and
(3) The deadline is extended by four months for July of 2023.

For quarterly value added tax declarations:
(1) The deadline is extended by six months for the first quarter of 2023; and
(2) The deadline is extended by five months for the second quarter of 2023.

The corporate income tax deadlines for the first and second quarters of 2023 are each extended by three months.

The value added tax and personal income tax deadlines for business households and individuals are extended to 30 December 2023 if their activities fit within the scope of the law.

For the first 50% of the land rental fees payment due in 2023, the deadline is extended by six months from 31 May 2023 to 30 November 2023.

The taxpayer must submit an application for extension by 30 September 2023 in order to enjoy such treatment.
