A: The Malaysia Tech Entrepreneur Program (MTEP) is a visa targeted at attracting tech startup entrepreneurs, experienced tech entrepreneurs, and investors to work or invest in Malaysia's tech industry.

Q: What are the types of MTEP passes?
A: Malaysia offers a 1-year Professional Visit Pass (PVP-MTE) for new entrepreneurs and a 5-year Residence Pass (RP-MTE) for established entrepreneurs or investors, along with dependent passes.

Q: What activities qualify for the MTEP Pass application?
A: Qualifying sectors include Agritech, HealthTech, DroneTech, FinTech, Smart City, CleanTech, Cyber Security, Smart Mobility, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain, and the Internet of Things.

Q: Can MTEP pass holders bring their family members?
A: Only established entrepreneurs with the Residence Pass (RP-MTE) are permitted to bring family members to Malaysia, and their spouse is eligible to work in the country.

Q: Is a sponsor required for the application for MTEP passes?
A: For the Professional Visit Pass (PVP-MTE), a recognised sponsoring organisation must act as your sponsor and sign a personal bond document. The sponsoring organisation must be an MDEC-recognised Malaysia Digital Hub or Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI).

For the Residence Pass (RP-MTE), a Malaysian individual above the age of 21 years must serve as your sponsor and sign a Declaration Form.
