Q: What is the duration for MM2H visa?
A: The following are the visa terms for different category of MM2H visas which are renewable:

  1. Platinum: 20 years
  2. Gold: 15 years
  3. Silver: 5 years
  4. Special Economic/Financial Zone: 10 years

Q: Who can apply for MM2H visa?
A: The minimum age for Platinum, Gold and Silver MM2H applicants is 25 years old, while for Special Economic/Financial Zone MM2H visa applicants can be as young as 21.

MM2H applicants do not need to provide evidence of offshore income.

Q: What are the post approval requirements for MM2H application?
A: The MM2H applicants are required to open a fixed deposit account with a licensed bank in Malaysia, pass a medical check up, purchase health insurance (for applicants below 60 years old). The fixed deposit requirement for MM2H application as follows:

  1. Platinum: USD1 million
  2. Gold: USD500,000
  3. Silver: USD150,000
  4. Special Economic/Financial Zone: USD65,000 (for applicants under 50 years old) or USD32,000 (for applicants aged 50 and above)

Further, the applicants are required to purchase property of the following value within 1 year of visa endorsement:

  1. Platinum: MYR2 million or above
  2. Gold: MYR1 million or above
  3. Silver: MYR600,000 or above
  4. Special Economic/Financial Zone: not restriction on value of property but must purchase the property in special economic/financial zones directly from the developer

Q: Can MM2H applicants bring along their dependants to Malaysia?
A: Yes, all MM2H applicants may bring their spouse, unmarried children under 34, as well as their parents and parents-in-law.

Q: Can MM2H applicants bring a domestic helper to Malaysia?
A: Only Platinum MM2H applicants are allowed to bring in a domestic helper.

Q:
Is there any minimum stay required in Malaysia per year?
A:
MM2H applicant, spouse and/or dependents are required to stay in Malaysia for at least a cumulative of 90 days per year.

Q:
Can MM2H visa holders work and conduct business in Malaysia?
A:
Only Platinum MM2H visa holder is allowed to work and conduct business in Malaysia.
