A:
Once a preliminary application is approved, the reservation period for the company name is six months from the date of approval.

Does company name need to be related to the business?
A: It is not necessary. A company name can indicate two types of business activities. However, if the business conducted is not registered under those specified activities, or if the permit for those activities is revoked or annulled, the company must undergo a name change process.

Q:
When should one apply for a company name change the registration?
A: For companies that have completed their establishment registration in the science and industrial parks, other park enterprises, or park service businesses wishing to change their name, they must first obtain preliminary approval from the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Following this, they should apply for approval through a special project with the Administration Bureau (Investment Division), then convene a shareholders' meeting to amend the articles of association and submit the application within fifteen days after the shareholders' meeting.
