Announcement on the Use of Electronic Certificates for Food Business Licenses

In order to facilitate applicants to apply for Food Business Licenses, the Beijing Administration for Market Regulation has decided to use the Electronic Certificate for Food Business Licenses from November 21, 2020. The relevant matters are now announced as follows:

1.      The issued paper license will continue to be valid within the validity period

From November 21st, Electronic Certificates for Food Business Licenses (not including Small-scale food production and business license) will be issued for all food business license projects (including new, altered, renewed, and reissued). The Electronic Certificate includes the original and duplicate. The issued paper Food Business License shall continue to be valid during its validity period.

2.       Electronic Certificate could be downloaded by logging in the platform

After the food business license application is approved, the applicant can log in to the online government service platform of Beijing Administration for Market Regulation, enter the food business online application page, and download the Electronic Certificates for Food Business Licenses from the Certificate Download menu, and can as needed print the copy of the Electronic Certificates for Food Business Licenses.

3.       Printing assistance is available upon request

If the applicant has difficulty in printing, the applicant may request to print of the Electronic Certificate for Food Business License when applying for the license, and the responsible personnel for the license shall assist the applicant in printing.

4.       Permits can be displayed electronically

Those who have obtained the Electronic Certificate for Food Business License are allowed to display the Food Business License in electronic form and are allowed to display the printed copy of the Electronic Certificate for Food Business License.

5.       Original and duplicate license are no longer required for changes

Units that have obtained the Electronic Certificate for Food Business License need not submit the original and duplicate when applying for the renewal, modification, or cancellation of the food business license.

6.       License information could be checked by the public

Beijing Administration for Market Regulation will publish the food business license information on the official website as required, and the public can check the license information through the portal website of the Beijing Administration for Market Regulation.
