Upon the obtainment of ARC in Taiwan, the period of stay will no longer be limited as ARC is validated for residents from Hong Kong and Macau, who are always free to enter and exit Taiwan without application of visa additionally. Except for receiving national grants, voting rights, holding of Taiwan passport, and taking up the position of public officer, they can enjoy other benefits as Taiwanese citizens, such as receiving the national health insurance, getting a driving license, enjoying telecommunication service, loaning, and doing business.
No need to quit the nationality
Despite of holding ARC in Taiwan, it is still available to hold their own foreign ID card and passport, which will not affect any of its power and rights.
Make a household registration in Taiwan.
In the condition of the holder who intends to make a household registration in Taiwan, it is accessible for him/her to apply for the resident certificate in Immigration Agency and change it into Taiwan ID card if such holder has been living in Taiwan more than one year and exits less than 30 days.
No Military Service for Males
All males up to the age of 18 from January 1st of the next year till to 36 from December 31st must receive the military service, but the holders with ARC are not limited in this coverage.
