The Benefits of Immigrating to Taiwan

At the beginning of 2020, the number of search of keywords “Immigration” and “Taiwan” in Google is 4 times more than usual. “Immigration to Taiwan” has become a hot topic.   1. Low Investment Amount

    For investment immigration, the applicant needs to invest NT$6 million in Taiwan. In fact, small business with simple operation will fulfill the requirement which is not complicated. Therefore, purchasing agent or online seller are considered as business as well.   2. Short Residency

    Immigrants can apply for household registration and passport as soon as they lived in Taiwan for 1 year, without leaving Taiwan for more than 30 days during the year. Another way is to stay in Taiwan for 2 years, with more than 270 days per year during the stay.

Among 133 cities, Taipei's living cost ranks 58th, while Singapore and Hong Kong are the most expensive cities in the world.

  5. Good Social Welfare

    Taiwan's social insurance system is divided according to occupation, and there are different competent authorities for the social insurance system of different occupations. The Ministry of Health and Welfare is in charge of social insurance business, including National Pension Insurance and National Health Insurance, providing national health care and basic economic and living security for the elderly. In addition, the rights and interests of the social disadvantages are guaranteed through insurance premium subsidies. Labours also have labour insurance and labour pensions provided by the Ministry of Labour. The labour pension system stipulates that employer must allocate a certain percentage of the amount to the individual pension account for laborers on a monthly basis. An additional contribution of not more than 6% of the monthly salary allows the worker to have a pension to claim back after retirement (age 65).

  6. Going Abroad

    As for national treatment, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, 112 countries are exempt from visas for Taiwan to go abroad. In addition, qualified Taiwan passport holders who meet certain conditions can go to the United States for sightseeing or business for up to 90 days. Before heading to the United States, they only need to apply for an electronic US visa online, that is, "Apply for an electronic visa ESTA". The Visa application fee is USD 14 . After approval, the applicant can enter the United States with an electronic visa ESTA, which can save the time for the long process of applying for VISA.
