If a foreigner’s parent obtains Taiwan nationality (while the foreign does not), can he apply the work permit by the method of dependent relative?
A: It is possible if the foreigner is under 20 years old, vice versa.

Q:
If an overseas Chinese is employed to work in Taiwan, is work permit still needed?
A:
Yes. Since overseas Chinese is considered as foreigner.

Q:
If a mainland Chinese lives in another country but does not obtain the nationality of that country, and being employed to work in Taiwan, how should he apply for work permit?
A:
Mainland Chinese is forbidden to work in Taiwan currently.

Q:
If a mainland Chinese obtained other nationality and being hired to work in Taiwan, how should he apply for work permit?
A:
If the mainland Chinese obtained the said nationality over 4 years, the application should be the same as foreigner.

Q:
If a person obtained Taiwan nationality but does not registered a household in Taiwan, does he need to apply for work permit?
A:
No. If the said person is going to stay and work in Taiwan, he should apply for Taiwan Alien Resident Certificate.
