Yes, winners of cash prizes from lucky draws are not required to pay betting duty. The Inland Revenue Department will not issue bills or receipts on betting duty to them. |

What is the penalty of evasion of betting duty? |

A person who evades, or assists another person to evade, a betting duty that is payable, an offence is liable:- on summary conviction, to a fine at HK$10,000, an additional fine of treble the amount of the duty that has not been paid or underpaid and imprisonment for 6 months; or on indictment, to a fine at HK$50,000, an additional fine of treble the amount of the duty that has not been paid or underpaid and imprisonment for 3 years. |
