Q: I would like to engage in import and export business. What documents do I need to prepare?
A: To conduct international trade and engage in import and export business, you are required to register your company’s English name with the Bureau of Foreign Trade.

Q: I want to start an online business. Is it more appropriate to set up a company or a firm?
A: If your sales revenue is relatively low, you may consider setting up a firm and apply for an exemption from issuing uniform invoices (whether the exemption is approved will be determined by the National Taxation Bureau).

Q: What is a special permit business (franchise-required business)?
A: A special permit business refers to business activities whose registration codes ends with the digit “1”. For example, the construction industry code E101011, these types of businesses require relevant licenses or permits in order to be established.

Q: How much should I set as the company’s capital amount?
A: The amount of capital depends on the individual responsible person. At a minimum, it should be sufficient to cover six months of operating expenses. Generally, setting it between TWD 500,000 and TWD 5,000,000 is considered appropriate.

Q: Can I operate my small shop without registering for a company or a firm?
A: No, you cannot. It is recommended to legally establish a company or a firm in accordance with the law. The National Taxation Bureau has the authority to conduct tax audits, and if you are found operating without registration, you may be subject to penalties or fines.
