What is the maximum duration for each work permit application for foreigners employed to work in Taiwan? Is there a limit to the number of times one can apply?
A:
Foreign professionals may apply for a work permit with a maximum duration of 3 years per application.

Q:
How many times limit to apply for a working permit for a foreigner to work in Taiwan?
A:
The extension can be applied for within the employment period without the maximum times of application.

Q:
What is the requirement on academic and working background for a foreigner to work in Taiwan?
A:
The employed foreign professionals shall meet one of the following requirements:
  1. The applicant shall obtain the certificate or qualification in accordance with the Professionals and Technologists Examinations Act.
  2. The applicant holds a master’s or higher degree from a domestic or foreign university, or holds a bachelor’s degree in related department with related working experience over 2 years,
  3. The applicant serves at a multinational corporation over one year and is assigned to work in Taiwan;
  4. The applicant shall experience professional training, or self-learning over 5 years with novel insights and performances.

Q:
Is it possible to list the part-time working experience during schools upon the application of the working permit?
A: No, it is not possible.

Q:
What is the procedure for a foreign professional to change the employer?
A: The original employer shall apply for the approval of unemployment in Ministry of Labor in Taiwan and the new employer submit the application of employment for approval or the evidence of unemployment of such employee.
