China Adds Two Statutory Holidays from 2025
Stating from 1 January 2025, the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year and May 2 will become newly added statutory holidays according to the revised Measures on National Holidays and Memorial Days, which was released by the State Council of the PRC on 12 November 2024.
After amendment, the total number of statutory holidays for all citizens each year will be increased from 11 days to 13 days starting from 2025, including:
(1) one day for New Year’s Day
(2) four days for Spring Festival
(3) one day for Qingming Festival
(4) two days for Labour Day Holiday
(5) one day for Dragon Boat Festival
(6) one day for Mid-Autumn Festival
(7) three days for National Day Holiday
The arrangements of statutory holidays for all citizens in 2025 released by the General Office of the State Council of the PRC are as follows:
